IPTV simply means television delivered over your internet connection instead of through an aerial or a dish. Here is a plain-English look at the three things people ask about most before subscribing: price, devices and 4K.
What is IPTV?
With IPTV, live channels and on-demand films and series arrive as a stream over broadband and play in an app on your TV, phone or tablet. There is no dish or aerial to install, just a compatible player and a good connection.
How IPTV UK pricing works
TellyUK plans are priced in pounds for a fixed length: 3, 6, 12 or 24 months. You pay once for the term you choose, and nothing renews automatically afterwards. Longer plans lower the monthly price, and plans that cover more devices cost more because more screens can watch at once.
- Length: the longer the plan, the lower the cost per month.
- Devices: choose 1 to 4 devices depending on how many screens will be used together.
- Everything included: every plan has the full channel and film library, so you are not choosing between feature tiers.
Plans start from around £3.29 a month on the longest single-device plan. Current prices are always on the plans section.
Which devices work?
TellyUK works on popular streaming and Smart TV devices, including Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, Windows and Mac. The full list, with a setup guide for each, is on the devices page.
What does 4K need?
4K (also called UHD) shows four times the detail of Full HD, but only when three things line up:
- A 4K screen that supports your player app.
- A fast, stable connection. As a rough guide, a single 4K stream needs around 25 Mbps free, and more if others are online at the same time. Ethernet is more reliable than Wi-Fi.
- A stream that is offered in 4K. Not every channel or title is available in UHD. TellyUK supports 4K, UHD, FHD and HD quality where the stream provides it.
EPG and catch-up
The EPG is the on-screen programme guide that shows what is on now and next. Catch-up lets you go back to programmes you missed on supported channels. Both are included.
Try before you commit
The simplest way to answer “will this work in my house?” is to test it. Start a 24h free trial, watch on the screen you will really use, then pick a plan from the plans section. Questions? The FAQ covers the common ones.
